Landscape Design and Planting Process
We start clients with an on-site consultation. During the consultation, we can walk through your space and explore design ideas, plant selections, color and material choices, and discuss improving or maintaining the underlying soil health in your landscape.
After our consultation, we’ll provide a timely estimate with plant and materials options and examples of our work. When you’re ready to move forward, you’ll be introduced to your project manager who will be your point of contact through the installation process.
Your project manager will meet with you on-site and walk through the project together before the team gets started. Our teams are efficient and focused on quality. We aim to delight our clients with timely communications and high-quality craftsmanship.
We will meet with you at your home to discuss explore the potential of your landscape together. We will assess the site, and discuss with you how and by whom your landscape will be used in order to get a clear understanding of your needs and expectations. We will show you examples of our projects and provide references and locations of some of our completed work sites so you can visit and get a sense of our style.
After the consultation visit, we will provide you a landscape design proposal for the design requirements of your space and the services you would like us to provide. If you accept the design proposal, we will move forward with scheduling the landscape installation.
Installation is guided by our landscape architect and managed by our talented foremen. As installation occurs, we will keep you informed with updates about installation progress and expected timelines. Installation wraps up with an on-site walk-through with the landscape architect and clients.
Before your installation is complete, we will offer you a maintenance package that will keep your gardens growing in the right direction. We can help with year-round maintenance including mulching, lawns, plantings, snow removal, and spring and fall clean-up.

At Minnehaha Falls Landscaping, we take a cooperative approach, developing the design concept together with our clients, tailoring the service according to their taste, needs and budget. We can design everything from patios, firepits, walkways, retaining walls, garden beds, raised beds to details such as fencing, screens, trellis, benches, plant containers and window boxes.
We prepare complete landscape installation plans and planting plans outlining plant varieties, numbers, spacing and plant care, followed by the sourcing and selection of plants and finally the setting out and planting of plants.
We work with a small selection of local nurseries to source the best possible plant specimens.
